Title: ScummVM 0.9.1
Post by: Leifern on January 23, 2007, 06:41:13 AM
Uwe Ryssel has finally updated ScummVM to 0.9.1 (http://freenet-homepage.de/uweryssel/scumm_en.html) for OS3.x, and it's SUPERFAST!!!! Beneath a steel sky, DOTT and The Dig are actually just as fast as on my PC.. But i  can't get the sound to work. I'm running a rather fresh OS3.9 install, but have tested AHI in the form of playing MP3's.. I can't see any differences between the settings that ScummVM is using now and the ones i was using on the previous version.. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated?

It's way faster then 0.7.1 was without sound on my setup.. And if it slows down as much as 0.7.1 did with sound, i'll still be able to live with it (i couldn't play anything on 0.7.1... Can't stand even if it's just a little slow..)  :-(

Wouldn't be possible to use the sound from Amiga game files? Another thing I can't understand is why do they need to emulate completely the sound chips of pc soundcards... If the game requires midi it could use CAMD and with Timidity installed you could choose the quality. Timidity was fast on my 060 and some of those games ran on 386/16Mhz machines so it shouldn't slow down much.

Punktum finale.. Pakk matpakka di sjøl! ;)

Version 0.9.1 freezes on start on my system. 0.7.1 works though...
