Thanks, which type of 68060 do you have?
-
I use only the latest rev.6 (mask 1E41J) 060 cpu.

OK thats good, not to ask too much, but do you socket the CPU and flash the firmware?
Also my BPPC 603e+ runs at 175mhz (3.5x multiplier) the 040 at 25mhz. There is only one oscillator it is 50mhz.
Is it possible to add a second oscillator to overclock the 060 and keep the 603e at 175mhz as it is likely already an overclocked 160mhz chip?

I do socket the cpu and flash the firmware.
I have to admit that your BPPC could be a problem...
I have only upgraded BPPC:s with 2 oscillators but im willing to check your card and if im getting stuck you only pay the shipping costs.
A 50Mhz oscillator that you have onboard is ok for a 68060 clocked at 50Mhz so it should be no problem, i think.
Adding a second oscillator for overclocking the 68060 cpu, again i have to admit that i dont have the knowledge if this can be done.

What other 040 boards are upgradeable to 060?
I have an old cyberstorm MK-I. Just wondering.
-
I have a dead Apollo 1240.
The cooling fan became detached from the heatsink and I guess the CPU overheated and died.
Do you think this board could be revived with an 060 upgrade?

Yes, i think there is a good chance that the card will work again if the cpu is replaced.
I would recommend that you solder in a cpu socket and try with a cheap 040 cpu first.
If you want you could also send the card to me and let me try to repair it and (if you want) upgrade it.
It cost you only the shipping costs if i cant fix the card.
