Title: Good hexadecimal editor to display HD data etc...
Post by: Jose on January 16, 2007, 07:04:47 PM
Hi. I've just finished correcting source code errors for the code of the saver part of the program idea I posted about on THIS (http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=26209)thread. Now I need a good hex editor to see if everything is being recorded to HD as expected. I know the ones from ASMOne ASMPro can be used for this but is there anything better ?

anything else? YES! :-)

There's DED -the Disk EDitor- it's a bit old but works flawlessly (at least here, on my A4000T/PPC-060 OS3.9BB32)
should be on Aminet.

What is cool with it is it's two editing views (as pure hex or as AmigaOS blocks), editing from bock zero,etc...
it's made for FFS but works with other FS -even ntfs!- at least for viewing :-D

If you don't find it drop me a PM with your email, I will send it to you :-)

Only thing I found in Aminet is DiskX from 88:)
Check your PM... :-)

A more recent (2006) HEX-editor is:

FileX (http://www.aminet.net/search?query=filex)
