...before I hit the big 10K :-)
Note: This was the forum's worst post ever.
-
Um, that'd be 199 to go now :-P
Was it MIPS that got that far before leaving?

I guess a congrats of sorts is in order :-D
-
:-o
I gotta post more, I'm getting too far behind!
-
Mips was on 2999 or 3999, then switched names. If I recall correctly, he later logged back in as mips_proc and posted, causing forum reality to break down, prompting the universe's own self-realisation and subsequent fall into atrophy.
Or not. :-)

I thought you caused that with tpg/nfm :-P
-
Ahh! I remember the good ol' days when coder, Kronos, and I competed for the highest post count. :-)
-
I wonder if there are any easter egg rankings?
"Forum whore"...
-edit-
Let's face it, KennyR and Red would have long since been there by now, had Kenny not gone and Red not taken his sabbatical.

You'll never catch me now, Mr Quist!
*manic laugher*
ahem...
-
I dare say that I'd be up there too, were it not for the work blocking access to a.org a couple of years ago.
I used to spend a good few hours each day on here.
What a saddo, eh?

To Meerschaum, I believe.

I remember you having over 1500 posts when I joined (had been lurking for ages previously). You, Jim and Whabang seemed surgically wired into the place :-D
-
I remember a point at which I was spending so much time here, my sister posted a thread trying to get hold of me. :-)
-
 I remember that.
that_punk_sis iirc.
I think we finally scared her off :-P

Good days, long gone
-
I wonder who'll still be here in another few years?
-
And their post count
-

Yeah, I used to have the site open all day at work and could read and post everytime I had a minute, which seemed to be most of the day. :-D

I'd imagine I probably will. Especially since I've been dabbling about with OS4 again, over the last couple of days.
(Although, admittedly, I'm typing this on the iBook.)
-
I'll probably be here. I'm still waiting for some affordable hardware...
-

What I wouldn't give for the free time to get back into it...
*sigh*
-

I'm acutally quite out of the amiga scene at the moment (nor really by choice, to be honest), but somehow I can't imagine leaving the org :-D
-
Me neither. I've fallen in love with the community here. :-P
-
This is it, though. Look at the bitterness of some of the fighting during the "hue wars"...
You just couldn't achieve that level of senseless antipathy amongst people that didn't actually care
-

Something tells me our newest recruit suspects I'm guilty of the same. I only actually take a peek during working hours, but I bet if I get caught doing it again she'll grass me up

I must say that would be less than chum like...

Quite

I didn't realise you were that old :-P
*runs away*
-
Yep. It's been fun watching civilization evolve these last few millenia :-)
-
@ Karlos
After 9999 you might just see four dials slowly change back to 0000
A4000 Mad
-
It's no less than I'd deserve
-
In five days time you posted 90 messages. You scare me :nervous:.
-
I did?
Still, nowhere near as prodigious as Kenny, Jim or Wilse in their prime :-)

Aren't you an OS4 for classic beta tester?
-
@Wilse
In theory, yes. In practice, I haven't had time to even switch the thing on in months. Last time, the flashrom went flaky (an annoying habit my PPC card seems to have) and I haven't touched it since.
-
@Karlos:
I see.
Well, I found the latest release to be quite an improvement on Update4.
Hopefully a classic version will be released soon.
-
**** la la la not listening. I can't hear you tell me how much fun it is to play with amigas when I can't ****
-
100 left. Well, 99 after this one...
(sorry)
-

I was thinking exactly the same thing. I haven't been on mine since my HD blew and possibly took out the IDE buffer at the same time :-(
-
@Karlos & Vincent:
Splitters!
:python:
;-)
-
...but there's two of us? The popular front only had one member
-
Odin:
"In five days time you posted 90 messages."
Not on my watch he wont ;-)
-
Now see what I have to put up with?
-
Yeah, if I had such colleagues I'd have quit long ago! :-P
-
odin wrote:

I imagine lowering ones gaze would be rather difficult with a colleague like that in the office! ;-)
-
@CannonFodder
You don't think they leave her at the mercy of a room full of male developers all day long do you?
-

Maybe we're the people's front?

Judean People's front, mate. ;-)
By the way, whatever happened to the popular front?

Now there is a man who knows how to post :-)
-
Congrats!!!!

Cheers!
How long have you had that in reserve?
X-ray wrote:

I wasn't, I was just trying to suitably word my 10,000th post in a manner appropriate for the occasion :-)
-
Hey look!
<-- I shrugged off my mortal rank and have transcended...
-
A big thanks to all the members I've had fun chatting to since I joined. After all, you cant reach that many posts talking to yourself.
And of course, a big thanks to Wayne, for making this the most addictive place on the web :-)
-

If the forums break today it's your fault :-P
-
Probably!
-
@ Karlos
I suddenly realised while we were talking about Blobzie that you were on 9995, and I got onto the raytracer real quick.
We can't have a guy reaching 10,000 without at least a modicum of pomp and circumstance...

Well done mate! :-)

"......or ridicule.."

Indeed, this event is ode-worthy.
Who will take up the challenge? I have done my share already.

Cheers. It's pretty weird up here in ranklessville :-D

Right, so when do we drop an ode on Mr 10K?
You know we have to.
Yes.
