Post by: guest3217 on January 09, 2007, 01:08:00 AM
Hi,
If anyone has an extra (Amiga) mouse/keyboard and wound like them to endup in good hands, please PM me.
I would prefer an A-4000 keyboard, but I am open to other models.
Thanks

Preferably, a fully functional keyboard, yes.

For those who have broken old laptops w/bad lcd screens and need an amiga kb/mouse/joystick, you could remove the LCD screen and run a DOS-based version of the keyboard/mouse/joystick simulator through an autoexec.bat batch file.  You may not even need a hard drive since the program is less than 16 kilobytes and can be booted from a floppy drive.  That would give you a working keyboard/mouse/joystick almost the same size/weight as an Amiga 4000 keyboard.

I suppose the only problem would be if your laptop takes like a minute to boot up; your amiga may beat it out during boot-up and then you may get one bad keystroke as the software resynchronizes with the amiga keyboard port.

The auction currently is for Windows version, but I can substitute for DOS version if you prefer:

Amigaksi,

I'm using the MK4 to hook up an Amiga mouse/keyboard to a PC, not the other way around. It also controls dedicated floppy drives that can read anything from a C-64 disk to Apple tp old PCs...etc...etc...
It works quite well. Since I'm now using Amiga Forever, I wanted to get direct input to my machine bypassing additional drivers like my current BlueTooth keyboard/mouse. I noticed sometimes it slows things down considerably, and I'm hoping that using a "real" Amiga mouse/keyboard helps in the lag time I'm experiencing now. My mouse acts "drunk" sometimes...and keys are sometimes delayed by several seconds...
Thanks for your responses though! :-D
