Title: Does anyone actually use AmiGift?
Post by: Fraggle1 on December 30, 2006, 06:37:49 PM
Hi,
I posted a thread a while ago, about configuring AmiGift, but only got one reply, hence the subject line.

The problem was that when I started AmiGift, it told me that my setup is incomplete, and though I've been through everything that I can think of, it still won't work.

Over the Xmas break, I thought that I'd have another go at getting it running, and as the reply that I got to my previous post suggested that I might not have all the right MUI custom classes, I checked this out using SnoopDOS, and downloaded all the required ones.

Now, when I start AmiGift, it crashes the machine :(
SnoopDOS reports that it gets as far as loading muimaster.library, which I havn't changed.

Can anyone help me out with this ?

Thanks.

I keep an archive of the current MUI custom classes here (http://amiga.serveftp.net/MiscFiles/FullMUIsetup.lzx) if you want to try it.

I've not written an installer script for it yet (it's in the *long* term plan), but the included instructions tell you what to do step by step.
Let me know if I've missed any classes or have any old versions in need of updating.

If anyone is getting bored over the holidays and wants to write me an installer script, I won't be complaining :-)

@ Castellen

Thanks! Your link got things running reliably. :)

I still needed to do some tweaking to the settings, but I'm now getting transfers.  :-D

Many thanks also to Framiga, who helped on IRC.
