Title: AmiNetRadio? Great...but how?
Post by: jus on May 30, 2003, 04:12:23 PM
Hi,

I read the thread here at AOrg about AmiNetRadio being such a great program and I thought I'd give it a try. Installed it, and I can play mp3s locally, but I cannot seem to connect to remote radiostations. The problem is with my internet connection I guess, as it keeps on displaying "opening Http://...". The search window also doesn't work. It just displays "connecting..."for about half a second and then show no result, whatever keyword I enter. For the internet connection I connect my amiga to an IP-NAT and Socks server running on a PC, which has an ADSL connection. My guess is that the problem is with the IP-NAT or Socks, but I don't know how to solve it.
My amiga is a Draco, the  TCP stack is MiamiDX and my network card is an XSurf.
Can anyone help?

IP-NAT and SOCKS are not meant to be used at the same time. MiamiDX in particular has great problems with it. ANR will not work unless you either use IP-NAT alone or SOCKS alone.

That was just too simple to be true was it? Well, it worked though. Switched off Socks and it works now. I never had any probem with it before though...
Thanks and sorry for the apparently stupid question!

You're welcome (even if it was in the guide ;-)).
