Title: CD+G player for Amiga?
Post by: amiga92570 on December 28, 2006, 10:02:46 PM
Does any one know of a CD+G player for the amiga similar to the one on CD32? I have tons of CD+G disks and the only thing I can play them on is the CD32. I was hoping there is a player for the Amiga.

Perhaps with a CD32 or CDTV emulator such as the AsimCDFS included one it might work.

That's a good guess. I know the CDTV is capable of playing CD+G, it's the only place I have ever seen CD+G EVER.

Same here, although stuff like the JaguarCD and SegaCD stuff also supported it according to wikipedia.

When I got my CDTV I trawled through my and my brothers' CD collections to find a CD+G disc and managed to find one whole CD which had it; a rather uninspiring Fleetwood Mac album . It wasn't very impressive, a very slow loading slideshow..

Yeah I have many, mainly Karaoke disks. I have a cd32 that plays them great, but was hoping there was an amiga player for standard amiga computers. I did not know CDTV played CD+Gs. I guess its one of those old Ideas. ahhah

Sam here. My friend's Amiga store got CDTVs in when they first came out, so we went to the local record store looking for CDs that supported CD+G. IIRC the people in store were clueless about WTF we were talking about, but we had read a magazine article that gave a few examples of who would have it. We picked up 2 CDs, I only remember one of them, Little Feet.

Same as you, we found both the music and the CD+G extremely uninspiring  :-x
