I'm in San Antonio and we're having brush/large item pickup.. I have alot of aminet and other software I'm going to throw away. Come and get it.. will not ship, will not type what I have..not worth the time.
(Jan 2nd is the day it goes to the dumpster)

Hitch up the wagons, we're going to Teaxs to rummage through the dump.
Seriously, what's with all the "It's going to the dump" attitude latley? Give it to the local thrift store. Someone might find something usefull outta the lot instead of turning it into a land fill.

Is better to ship it than throwing it in the dumpster :(
I am sure someone would even pay you a buck or two for you trouble of shipping it. Most of us dont live nearby and i think you gave a them a very short time as well.
I personally think it is disgusting to throw away stuff that other people could value. There is not much chance of anyone picking it up when you dont even bother to mention what it is.. What software is there besides aminet? Is it orginal, copies or public domain?
I hope someone picks this up, as it would be a shame to see more amiga stuff end up on the dump.

Its too much hassle for me to go about, buy packing material, buy a box etc etc.. I'd have to do it on my lunch break and I dont feel like wasting my lunch time going to buy shipping materials. After work I work out.. on weekends, the Amiga is the last thing on my mind.
Its Aminet stuff then a "milk crate" full of floppys (dunno if they work or not)...some originals, some copies of originals (cracked software) no docs.. I dont remember it all.. its just sitting there on the ground in a pile. Also a 2090 scsi controller.. I'll have to look through it tonight/tomorrow to see exactly what it is.

Dang, I was in San Antonio 2 months ago...
I have some family out there, but they live a good 20-30 minutes away from the river walk.
-
tell them to come n get it.. I also have a psygnosis folder and a C= binder that i'll throw in. I dont use this stuff..I have alot of stuff on CD that I transferred or on my HD in adf format.. so I'm sure someone can put this stuff to use..
I sold a A2k on ebay and that dude lived in Texas but I forgot his ebay name.. he'd take this stuff.. :- /
-
Won't his user name be in your feedback history somewhere (assuming you or he left feedback)
:-)
-
yea it would be but if he didnt sell anything I dont know how to find out if he's from Texas or not.

@TheMagicM
If the item is still active, you can click on the link in your feedback. His info will be accessible via the auction page, or you can at least email him via contact buyer. If it's not active, you can still copy and paste the auction number into the search field top find the auction listing. eBay deactivates the links on the feedback page before erasing the auctions themselves.

Why do people throw Amiga stuff away is beyond me. I am sure someone will pay for shipping, how much effort is it to throw a CD in a padded envelope? Worst case take it to a thrift store, it will be useful to someone. I always check the CD racks for the possibility of finding something interesting. I think I would {bleep}t my pants if I saw a Aminet CD in there!
What Aminets do you have? I can use a CD...
-
its not a CD.. the stuff is ALL FLOPPY DISKS. It would cost a small fortune to send the quantity of disks I have. LOL
@weirdami: I'll try that.
-
I emailed one person from ebay.. actually they didnt buy a Amiga 2000.. they bought some software and I had a spare A2k and some stuff I gave them.. now I really wont remember who it is because I forgot what they won.. we'll see if this was it.
-
Hey, I am in Kyle, what is it that you all have, I could prolly make the trip and save the amiga stuff. let me know...

YEA!!
When I killed my A3000 (bad battery/bad sodering job) a few months before Katrina hit (sniff..sniff... :boohoo: ) I parted with my faithfull companion of 14 years by giving it all up to the local Salvation Army Store a few months after the storm.
Yesterday, I called them to see if they still had it as I now have a Catweasel and could use the keyboard and all those floppies.... No dice!!! :-o
Someone scarffed it all up long ago!!!!!
Share it with someone....get a tax write-off, confuse someone to hell by donating a computer that's extinct, do anything but don't just chuck it...
-
after looking through my closet and the software.. its over 1500 disks.. i'll put it up on ebay along with some C= 8bit stuff etc..

Good for you, Bro!
