In my search for a cdity that actually allows you to do a single click on a background window (either border or body) to bring it on top, I tried many from aminet (some actually did nothing on 3.9), and only found really working on AOS3.9 the "WindowToFront" one.... but even that, after some time stops to work?!!
I was wondering what people use for that purpose on 3.9 setups?
-
WindowToFront works for me.
-
Similar behavior from all window-to-front commodities happened here too. On my system, any time I popped up a MUI help bubble, window-to-front utilities would stop responding. The real culprit for me was MagicMenu. When I killed that, ClickToFront, the plain vanilla commodity, became very reliable.
-
ah, I always install Magic Menu, I really like it...
Roj, did u find a magic menu replacement, or just stopped using it?
-
I couldn't find a decent replacement. After trying a lot of different options, I opted ultimately for functionality over eye candy.
-
:-(
well, u can't have it all I guess...
thanks for the info!

Single click? Double click to front is one my favorite things about Amiga. I have tried for years to find something that did this in Windows XP. :-)

Ioannina is the head city of Hepirus, it is 350km away from Thessaloniky, geographically is near to Albania... the albanian border is 50-60km from here... look it here:

yeah, single mouse click is better, not 2! lol

It seems Aminet is down again, where can I find WindowToFront or one of the other ones.
-
You might want to try a MCP. It's possible to configure it for the singleclick.
-
I can't get my clicktofront to work? I remeber some trick you had to do to the icon, tooltype?
I'm just tuning my new 3.9 install...
:-?
-
DONOTWAIT when you wanna start it via the WBStartup drawer. Maybe that?
-
@tonyvdb
Wow, that's some signature.
-
Ah, set the icon to run from shell, not WB.
Then all is a go.
:-D
Edit:
And on plain old AOS 3.1 there is no option to run from shell. There is a QUALIFIER=LEFT ALT in the Tool Types, just delete this and it starts to work.
