Title: OS3.9: ERROR: can't load keymap KEYMAPS:d on every boot...
Post by: keropi on December 16, 2006, 07:38:25 PM
help! I get this error all the time, and I don't know how to fix it...
I bought this 2nd hand amiga from a German user, and before I installed 3.9, I made an emergency boot disk with the os that was installed... it took with it the german keymap, and even after I reintalled I get this error... currently on /devs/keymaps there is NO keymap, and the OS uses the default US keymap I want...
where is the config file/setting that wants to load keymap "d" ???  :-?  :-?  :-?

It's in the Locale prefs. Make sure the keymap you select exists in DEVS:Keymaps/

Hmmm that's weird. If you select the US language and save the prefs, does that fix it? Or delete the local prefs from ENVARC:? Also, check startup-sequence for commands which might be trying to set the keymap to something other than what is configured in the prefs (SetMap IIRC)

I found the keyboard stuff in "INPUT" prefs, I just highlighted the US one, pressed save and it fixed it...
