Post by: fatman2021 on May 29, 2003, 03:45:45 AM
Will AmigaOS 4.0 support DPMI? If not what would it take to add support for DPMI...? :pint:

DPMI? Dos Protected Mode Interface?

Isn't that for ix86?

Neither classic Amigas or the AmigaONE will require a protected mode interface, since they don't have processors based on a half-arsed braindead original architecture.

Perhaps he meant the VESA DPMS (http://www.vesa.org/summary/sumdpms.htm)?

Or not.

I doubt it, but AFAIK there are screenblankers out there that use DPMS on the Amiga.

There are several DOS emulators available for Amiga but I don't think they are much good.  AmigaOS 4 will support memory paging using the MMU on the PPC.
