Title: Zeta?
Post by: Fester on December 12, 2006, 08:52:39 PM
Hi,

I'm just curious. Has anyone tried Zeta 1.21? Impressions on it? Comments? I'm curious...

I think i tried the last one made by yellowtab atleast.. I dont recall which version that was. But my impression of it was bad.. It seemed like the old beos 5 version with some third party hacks added ontop. The new stuff added did not really mix in well and it had barely any new hardware support at all. Beos5 of the old time was lightyears ahead of the current yellowtab zeta.

R1.1 is the version I run here, works great, supports my hardware without fart arsing around.

R1.2.0 beta versions I played with were very promising, never played with 1.2.1.

BeOS was nice, but with the 1.x series, Zeta moved from being "BeOS with hacks" into something with it's own distinct charactor.

To call the the latest versions that would be to do Zeta a grave disservice imho.
