not sure of the significance here - yes, this is a great game, and yes, I played the crap out of it on the C=64, but not as much on the later amiga version, but I don't see a download link for it on this post?

I was thrilled to find Masterblazer a few years ago because there's no C64 or Atari800 emulator on the Amiga that emulates the original Ballblazer (or Ballblaster) correctly.
Masterblazer is great, but I wish they did a couple things differently. The screen size fits in NTSC, but they put it too high so the top bit gets cut on the NTSC 1084. They tried to give the goal posts and scoreboard a bit more detail, but it somehow ruins the original feel. Also, the high score screen has a horrible dithered grey background when they could have had a nice copper rainbow. I like the new "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"-type history screens though.
The fractal mountain intro made me think they also did an Amiga Rescue on Fractalus, but sadly they didn't.

I originally had BallBlazer for the C64. Since then I have picked up versions for several other platforms: Atari 5200 and 7800, PlayStation (BallBlazer Champions,) and another one which I cannot recall nor find right now. Let me just tell you how none of the other ones stack up to the C64, IMHO.

What? Are you crazy? Games originally written for Atari always look better than C64 versions.

yeah, the Playstation BallBlazer champions is the 'bastard lovechild' of BallBlazer and Crystal Castles - too weird. Kind of like the 'Super Qix' on Playstation. They should have left well enough alone and included the original game with whatever weird variants that came later (e.g. the Qbert Playstation game - has the original arcade version which is still far better than the other newer variations on the disc.). Sometimes they get it right the first time?
