Title: A500+ Blue Screen
Post by: allan193 on December 05, 2006, 09:35:34 PM
I've just bought an A500+ from ebay, but when i switch it on the TV screen goes blue and nothing happens.

The drive doesn't tick, but the power light does come on.

I know that the video cable, modulator and PSU are ok as I've tried them out on my friends Amiga.

Any idea what might be wrong?  I've looked in google but all I get is that it might be an error in the "custom chips"?

What are the custom chips and can I repair the Amiga?!?

Try reseating the ICs. They work their way out a little over the years due to thermal expansion and contraction. Ive solved most problems ive had similar to yours by just simply making sure all the chips are firmly in their sockets, or pulling the chips and reinserting them.
