So, I've got that scan doubler dead cheap (thx Darren!:)), but it has a small defiecency I need help to fix. First of all, the scandoubler can be seen here: http://www.amiga-hardware.com/display_photos/scanmagicint.jpg
Now, notice the scndoubler part connected with the flfixer with a 2-wire cable? The wires that connect to the ffixer end are desoldered. Now, my question is, since there are 2 wires and 2 connection points at the flicker fixer board, which connects to which? I assume that wiring them the wrong way I could end up with something burned!
Also, Anybody has a clue where each part clips onto? Amiga book of hardware says that it either clips on the Lisa or the Alice....and if we clear that out, where does the flicker fixer parts clips onto?
Regardless to say that any help will be highly appreciated!

A simple :bump: would have been enough, no need to create 3 topics, dude... :-)
Send a PM or E-mail to Doppie1200 (http://www.amiga.org/userinfo.php?uid=9586), I believe he has one of these scandoublers as well (for as far as I can see on his pictures in the photoalbum).
There should be others as well who have one of these, just be patient and wait for their answers :-D

hehehe :) Noticed the question. I'll have to open up the amiga to see. It is not the kind of thing I write down. I see what I can do the coming weekend.

Addition:
Maybe this photo helps.

Let me know if it works out.

Oh God! Sorry, I didn't mean to open 3 posts! Only one, plz some admin delete the others....sorry about it again :/
Doppie: that pic might help me a bit with the wires thing, but mine are not colored, they're both blue....It's better than nothing tho...Now, if u manage to give me some more info at some point about that and where the chips should be clipped I'd be eternally gratefull! From the photo I half-understand that sd clips on Lisa and ff on Alice....is that right?
Again sorry for the multiple threads thing....big oops!

That's right. The main board (the one with lots of components) goes on top of the Lisa chip. The connector for the flat cable faces to the back of the Amiga.
The other board, from where the two wires come from goes on top of the Alice chip.
If you pay attention to the Doppie picture, you can see that the red wire is on the right hole on the Alice board, and in the bottom hole in the Lisa board.
If you put your wires the same way, everything should be fine.
Anyway, these two wires takes the H and V sync signals to the main board. If you connect them reversed, all that will happen is a malformed, or no picture at all. If this happens, just reverse the wires and you should be fine. You'll not damage your Scandoubler if the wires are reversed.

Thx Mugo, thx Doppie! I think that's enough info to get it working! I owe you a million :)

Gosh I really could use a million :) no problem!

:-P
really thx tho!

I have just started using my one of these. Is it a full AGA compatible sd/ff?
I ask cos mine doesn't seem to display RED? It is likely busted, but I wanna know for sure.
Ta.

If you cannot get it working, throw it in the post and I'll have a look at it for you.

Thanks Alexh, It is working ok now though.
In my haste, I grabbed the first VGA type cable I could find. Of course it is an old Mac cable and is missing 2 of the 15 pins..... The ones that carry the Red signal...
New cable = 100% working SD/FF PAL Hires laced never looked so solid
