More important are donations (http://www.teamaros.org) IMO, since it's more then likely going to be a single man project.

The MOS-team just announced that EFIKA will be supported:
"23.11.2006
The MorphOS Team is pleased to announce that the next public release of MorphOS will support the EFIKA. MorphOS is a lightweight and flexible operating system and EFIKA is a low-power and silent miniature mainboard based on the Freescale PPC5200.
Best regards,
MorphOS Team"

That's exciting! But not really that surprising since the death of the Pegasos :-(

now all that is left is EFIKA to become available!

No. It's rather about Morphos 1.5 becoming available. You can order EFIKA right away if you want.
-
Thats good news! I wonder what sort of performance you will see with Mos in this board?

I didn't know it was available. What OS(s) can you run on it?

E.g. Linux.

Going a bit OT, does anyone know where to get an Efika from in the UK? Are they only available from Genesi's website?

No, I don't think they'll only be available from Genesi since Vesalia already has EFIKA listed with ETA 27 Novemember (http://www.vesalia.de/e_efika.htm).
You might also want to ask Amigakit if they expect a shipping in the near future.
-
We expect to be stocking Efika soon too.
-
how much do you think you'll be selling 'em for (GBP) Mr. Amigakit? :-)
-
We are still awaiting for confirmation of retail price, shipping dates, availabilty etc. Maybe able to confirm tomorrow.
-
@humppa and Amigakit
NO! don't ask Amigakit just say his name three times thusly: Amigakit Amigakit AMIGAKIT
and lo' he appears :-D
ahem, anyhoo, cool so do you know when you'll have them available to the UK? I have for so long been wanting to buy much shininess from you.

Still awaiting info- should be able to confirm very soon.
-
I think the first shipment will mainly be for people participating in the Efika developer programme. In some weeks, shipments to Amiga dealers and "consumers" should follow.
Also keep in mind that you won't get MOS with it.
-
When MorphOS ships with this, I'm pretty sure that this will be my first "next generation" Amiga

Unfortunately, that won't be this year anymore. And there isn't any release date announced for MOS 1.5, so it could still take some time...
Vesalia lists Efika now as "available". Only the price is a bit strange: 213.99 EUR :-?
-
@humppa,
Well, In my Amiga/hobby computer world I've got nothing but time at this point
Maybe Vesalia is hiking the price a bit to make more of a profit? Or maybe its going to come with something extra like a case or a graphics card?
-
maybe it is higher because they include the " PCI slot incl. AGP riser card " ... or is it standard equipment?

I first thought of the same but at Genesi's store, it also shows the riser card, so I think it's included.
Anyway, information is very sparse on what is actually included (any CD-ROM? documentation? cables?).

Any update, Matthew?
