If you live in Europe and if you have a big truck, then check this auction. (It is not mine, but I thought that should be mentioned)
Little C= Collection (http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=150061088892&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=005)

Holy CRAP!
Its a retail store starter kit.
-
Postage of that lot will be pricey ;-)
-
This would make a great little ebay store project, and at this point the price is very low. I wonder how much of it is working?
-
Somehow I don't think my bid will survive until the end :-).
-
Is this worth translating? I'm curious to know the history of this collection. This is amazing... ::wipes tear from eye::

Holy sh!t, thats one huge collection. I wonder if it's another case of the missus cracking the whip ;-)
-
That would be one big mother of a whip! How could anyone amass that much hardware???
-
It is very easy. I used to have a similar amount, but have since sold half of it.
Here's part of the collection + me before I started selling.. And that picture's not even including the Amigas I had/still have.

They were really cheap back in the mid 90s, you could go to any thrift store and pick them up for the equivalent of a couple of euro. Also I was given lots of hardware as fame started to grow.. The local newspaper got tipped off and they made an article about my collection, then I started getting phone calls from ppl who wanted to get rid of their HW.
And the inevitable "why": I wanted to have a "complete collection", unfortunately some peripherals were only available when bought with a full kit, also I soon started to notice that no two old commodore computers are alike, there were always subtle differences that made them unique.
Then I lost my storage space and had to sell a lot of them, and I now plan on selling some more. No point in having a bunch of "different" computers that all do the exact same thing.. I guess I just grew out of it a bit. Still love C= and Amiga, but no longer as an obsessive collector.

damn i'd love to get my hands on that collection
-
Box of C64s at 50 cents each,mini-pickup truck of ex-school C64s free with 4 PETs as well, several private sellers collections at good price because they went PC,$1 disk drives at hamfests and flea markets,a C= store selling out,;result a whole bunch of C= stuffed into corners ,basement, storage.
Hard to resist when the prices are low because you are rememberuing the original prices.

What really is funny is that he only sells a part of his collection. So there's even more! :-S I had a look at that auction yesterday and had to promise my wife, with my hand on my heart, that I would not participate in this auction. She's probably right. I know she's right. I haven't got the room... [but I'd still love to pick up such a bunch of hardware ;-)]
