I am an Amiga user from the past who in the last year got his hands on an Amiga 4000. I am not sure what I am doing so I am having trouble getting the thing to run. I managed to get it up to Workbench 3.1, and get it to read the hard drive. However at the current moment it is not finding an OS, which is making me guess that it is not finding the hard drive, again. I am either looking for help or another Amiga to replace this one should that fail.
Anyway...Hello and all that jazz.:-)

hi there!
try to make a 2nd soft reset, and see if the HD is found now... maybe it is too slow (like old hd's) and cannot catch up with the amiga...
or try another known good HD....

Hello and welcome!
Sorry I can't help, I'm a CD32 console player, but just thought I'd welcome you aboard!
Kindest regards,

Hi there and welcome to the wonderful world of Amiga :-)

Welcome :) You need to boot the machine with install disc, run the HDTools and check if you can see the harddrive there... (as you should).

Hi Starrunner, Welcome to Amiga .org
Do you have the original install disks for OS 3.1? if so then your best bet is to reinstall the OS from scratch. Reformat the hard drive first using the workbench disk loading from the floppy drive and then go from there.
