the GP2x hand held looks wicked, i think im going to get one to play amiga stuff and anything else i want to play.
Does any one here have one of these devices? what is your opinion in it?

It is a very nice device from what i read about it.. But it does not handle amiga emulation at fullspeed with sound. I dont think there is any handheld out there that is capable of emulating even a a500 at decent speed. Snes, nes, sega and such should work fine though.

Here's a youtube Video (http://youtube.com/watch?v=L_6N13neyEU). Doesn't run too hot yet.
Some SNES games on GP2X (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3C0K0FBHmY) (without frame limiting)

Its improving though. There was a new version with a new CPU core (with a lot of work) released a few days ago. Apparently much faster, though I've not used it much. ProjectX crashes you see!
Mark
edit: That video above is with the old core.
edit2: Note ST is full speed with sound (generally). So if the ST port is equivalent then you're ok for now.

ST smeshtee ;-) The amigas chipset ensures a hard time for any computer that dare emulates it.
There is a 275 Mhz version which may handle the amiga stuff better, and a new version of UAE has been released. its a pretty neat piece of kit. Its pretty cheap considering it'll play nearly everything < amiga 500 Thats a lot of stuff :)

I've got one and it runs some A500 games just fine, some not.
There is a database of people's experiences in running games here:
List of compatibility (http://wiki.gp2x.org/wiki/UAE4all#Game_Compatibility)
BTW the 275Mhz version is just those standard ones that overclock well, no new components or anything. My standard GP2X overclocks to 250 no worries, never tried faster.
There has been a few big developments (memory access, second CPU etc) in recent time so I wouldn't look to youtube videos as any sort of guide unless they are very recent.

Sweet. I have a GP32 from back in the day, its good for playing 8-bit era games.
Still don't think I'll get a GP2X until I see proof of FF6 running full speed with sound. :'(
