Title: WTB: G-Rex PCI for 4000 desktop
Post by: LoadWB on October 29, 2006, 06:48:07 AM
Against better judgement, I have some money put aside.  I have a 4000 desktop with CyberStorm MKIII.  Would love a G-Rex.

Must be working; would like drivers CD.

Good luck dude.  Haven't seen many of those for sale lately..  Why not a Mediator?  Granted, it ain't perfect but it beats Zorro eight ways to Sunday.

I want a GREX 4000d too. Mediators dont have a video slot and if you already have a picassoIV then it is a total waste.

They were IMHO mad not to include a video slot on the Mediator A4000d.

It only beats Zorro on price and then it depends what you already own.

If you own no Zorro cards, then absolutely. A mediator + graphics card + sound card + network card is MUCH cheaper than zorro equivalents.

Own just one zorro card (gfx, network, sound card) then it is not as good a deal.

Own two (like me, Picasso IV and XSURF) and it just isnt worth doing at all.

g-rex4000's are very hard to find, previous owners don't like to sell them it seems, because they are so great!
and I cannot blame them, that busboard works like a dream...
I had a mediatorZIV too in the past, there is simply no comparison...
