As reported by Amiga-News.de, there's now a beta driver for Poseidon for some USB2 boards.
Download (http://www.pegasosforum.de/dload.php?action=file&file_id=645)
News source (http://www.amiga-news.de/en/news/AN-2006-10-00105-EN.html)
Working here. Yay.

Great news!

would this also works for MOS PUP ???

@keropi
would this also works for MOS PUP ?
I see no reason why not. I doubt you can get anywhere as good performance as under Pegasos though, and you probably need to register poseidon (or does it work partially/limited without a key?).
Someone with GRex and known working card should give it a try I guess.
[EDIT] Update: It's likely not going to work (say the wise men). [/EDIT]

nice, it is a good thing then that I have this line in my sig: Registered WHDLoad/WarpDT/Poseidon
I will try it when I get my new csppc...

@keropi
Oh darn, after consulting some wiser men (hi fellas ;) they explained to me that it's likely not going to work. Sorry for settings your hopes up. :-\
-
don't you mean it is NOT going to work? how come? g-rex limitation? mos pup limitation?

I'm no expert, but if I understood correctly, the DMA is not fast enough in GRex.

MorphZone: USB2 for MorphOS! (http://www.morphzone.org/modules/newbb_plus/viewtopic.php?topic_id=4852&forum=16) -thread has some new user feedback.
Supported cards appear to include ones at least with NEC, ALI and VIA chipsets. Some have had less luck with VIA though.
My NEC chipset card is working fine.

damn.

I'm using the ExSys EX-1065 that Genesi sends with ODW systems. Not sure what chipset that is and I'm not in the mood to pop any more case lids for a while...
At any rate, I can confirm it working for those shopping for cards.
EDIT: Quick perusal through the manual says it's a NEC chipset.

Would it be possible to boot MorphOS from an USB stick?

I don't know, I have never even considered that before. In theory it should be possible, at least, but I fail to see the point in that.

@Piru
More proof of a concept
While I was thinking more on AROS, regarding MorphOS one could use it to boot different systems with different setups for each element of the family
