Title: Random resetting with BPPC
Post by: McVenco on October 27, 2006, 07:27:54 AM
Recently, my BPPC card is giving me some trouble.

When I boot up to Workbench (at the moment I just have a plain OS3.0 installed on hdd), it seems that after a random time (between 30 seconds and 5 minutes) my A1200 suddenly resets. I don't have this problem when the Blizzard is not there. I have an A500 PSU and no other hardware attached.

I haven't had this problem in the past, so I wonder what could be wrong. The only thing I did last week was switch the 16MB simm for 2 32MB ones. Could it be that these simms are too fast/too slow/generally not good for the board?

no, they are more power hungry, and you probably hit the limit IMO.

Damn. Well, I'm going to look out for a tower then, it suits my wishes better than the desktop anyway...

Anyone have a spare tower? :-D

The cheapest solution would be find a old AT power supply and make your own cable. If you like Amigakit sell these already made up.

The D-Box from Elbox is worth considering should you decide tower everything up.

I've been eyeing that tower for a while now, since I absolutely love its design, but I think it's just too expensive. I'm condering my miggies still a hobby, and don't want too spend hundreds on it. Unless I get a nice Christmas bonus this year, then I might just consider.... :-)

I think I'll settle for a used E/box or Micronik tower if I can find one...
