The reason for Bill not being able to attend yesterday's AmiWest was his son being hurt in a hockey game and that his son was brought to a hospital.
Bill had the terrible misfortune of loosing his daughter a few years ago.
I think it would be a good idea for the community here to come up with some sort of virtual get well card. What could we do? How would we get in touch?
I know it's short notice, is there something we could come up with for Monday? I just think it would be something nice for him to face Monday mornign instead of a bunch of angry flames for not attending.
What do you think?
-
If you can get hospital details, I will help in any way possible.
-Edit-
You know what, I removed the last part of my coment above. Something I'll rather not speculate on. Best wishes to Bill's son.
-
I have asked Wayne if he has any ideas as he seems to know how to contact him.
-
I send him all of my best wishes! I hope that everything will be okay now. Even though I might disagree with things he says or do, I respect him for who he is. All credits and I hope that it all turns the positive way.

Really great idea sdyates :-)

Sorry to hear his kid was hurt, but I'd like to know:
1. Did the child even stay at the hospital? So far what I've read, he went to the hospital, which is typically a cover_your_ass move involving any sport injury. Staying at the hospital is a different story entirely.
2. Did anyone confirm this story?
3. How old is the child?
This is Mr."On Schedule and Rock'ng!" we are talking about.

We wish Bill and his son all the best.

@Thread
I send my best wishes and thoughts for Bills' son.
Of course Bill will be upset at this time by the recent news about Gary Peake. (http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=21010&forum=14)
I am thinking of them all and send my best wishes.
-
What can I say? Me three.
...and it's not like his son has been making any business decisions -- well, as far as we know. :egad:

Really? Oh my god! Quick, do we have any spare white hoods and crosses to burn outside?
And it's phallus (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=phallus&x=0&y=0) , you illiterate gimp.

My apologies to the moderators, but there's only so much you can take.

@ Karlos
Actually it is phallus, but I understand how indignation can make a typo.
@ Laser
Listen here, pal. This is the third or fourth time you have posted bilge on this board. Why do you do it, have you run out of Preparation H or what? You had better alter the cut of your jib (and do it smartly).

I had to delete some comments as I could not keep up with the editting. As such any child posts are now gone, which is unavoidable. Hopefully the thread will be back on track with a certain user in time out.

Eat less, but more frequently, take regular walks. You'd be surprised how effective that is at helping keep the weight at bay.
Says the 5ft6 tall guy who weighs 11stone...

Eat less? Very difficult, that's the hard part. I love to eat. I take at least 1-2 walks a day since I got a dog. Actually I'm not horrendously fat, just out of shape and a bit of a belly @ 6'4" and ~240. I don't feel good though, that's the problem. Being out of shape will do that to you..
How much is 11 stone in pounds?
-edit-
Oops we are getting OT
-
11st? That's 154 lbs

Walking the dog is a good thing, but I fully understand the love of food. Tis a tough one, then again, nothing truly worth doing is easy.

I know that one, I feel horrid if I go much above 12 stone. Even when I'm in shape.

Erm... About 150lbs... I think.

Swimming is your friend. Embrace the pool! Nothing shifts the excess like doing a few dozen lengths every day.

Ugh, that is truely horrific news. Sure does put one's priorities into perspective. My heart goes out to Gary and his family.

Eat more meals and exercise is right. Had a nutritionist a while back: supposed to have six meals a day: three main meals and three snacks :)
They say the more muscle we have, the more we can eat and have to eat and will burn more calories by just sitting... its gettign them that takes effort.
My two cents

Thanks Dammy, for bringing a bit of gravitas back to this thread.

Quite. Though the resurgence of the_leander was rather an event, I do apologise for wandering off the topic.

:-( My best thoughts and wishes go to Bill and his family. I pray that his son gets well quickly.
