Is Morphzone gone? I haven't visited it in a long time but went there just now, and the site is gone. Is it dead?

Not that I know of. I was just there a couple of days ago, a rarity for me. I wonder what's up.
-
Working fine here.
-
1 or 2 hours ago, it worked fine ! Now i obtain a boring page with DirectNIC (update of DNS ?).
Arnaud aka bigdan
(connected via Free my french ISP)
-
Really.
I get a DirectNIC page with links telling me "The Requested URL was not found on this server."
-
Weirdness. I get this:

Maybe my ISP is doing something weird with the DNS?

Ahh other people are getting the same. Took too long taking the screenshot and didn't see the other posts :-)

Bugger - look:
Domain Type Class TTL Answer
www.morphzone.org. A IN 86400 204.251.15.175
(root) NS IN 86400 ns0.directnic.com.
(root) NS IN 86400 ns1.directnic.com.
ns0.directnic.com. A IN 21600 204.251.10.100
ns1.directnic.com. A IN 21600 209.16.87.100
So the domain belongs to Directnic now??? :-(

Also, the whois record was updated 2 days ago with the Directnic details. Looks like they forgot to/didn't want to renew it!

Strange still coming up fine here :-? . Anyone else test it yet?
-
just gone there and posted as well.
EDIT- now i get the DirectNIC here too
-
who cares? , they all hang out on Amigaworld theese days anyway ;-).
-
MorphZone is not going anywhere, domain is just being moved. The different effects people get at different times depend on your local DNS timeout settings.
Move along, nothing to see here... :-)

According to the WHOIS, on 20 October, Dave moved the domain name from directNIC to GoDaddy. The problem is, his nameservers still reflect directNIC's servers
(ns0 and ns1.directnic.com)
The problem with that is that directNIC cannot offer hosting or other services to domains which aren't registered with us, hence Dave will need to log into his GoDaddy account and change the DNS servers to reflect a new Web host. This is why the "site is not found on our server".
Wayne
(who coincidentally happens to work for directNIC)

@Wayne
Phew, glad it's not dead. Thanks for the info.

your dns server is probably slow to update.

Curse the efficiency of BTOpenWorld's DNS servers

Somehow I get the feeling that technicalities involving a registrar change are not clear to BBRV. It hardly means that the site would need to be rebuilt from scratch or anything. The server itself is not moving anywhere...
