Tomorrow night is TPUG's next meeting (www.tpug.ca). TPUG is the second oldest commodore user's group. There are two separate meetings one for Commodore items and the other for Amiga.
The Amiga group will discuss various topics such as the World of Commodore coming up in December in Toronto. There will also be user demonstrations and typical user group type conversations and activities.
Meetings are held every third Thursday of the month: October 19, 2006 is the next one ;)

TPUG!!!! :-o Holy crap, I thought this post had been dug up from an old backup or something. And WoC Toronto!?!?! That would be great. Count me in for that. I used to look forward to WoC/WoA every year just to get some goodies as an early Christmas gift to myself.
Ah geeze... now I'm getting all mushy
Pete
Edit: I just visited the TPUG website. I guess I should crawl out from under my rock every now and then. :-D

I just crawled out from under my rock a few months ago. I attended my first TPUG last month. It was smething else!
I am looking forward to hearing about what speakers they have lined up. Last year they had Jim Butterfield! Remember him from Compute!
It's a little smaller than in the past, not the 50,000+ in attendance, but it brings back memories. If we end up with some nice news from Amiwest, this WoC could be the best in years ;)
This used to be the biggest Amiga fest around... ah, back in the day.

Jim Butterfield!!!! :-o I was going to mention him in my first post. I remember him from my C64 days (early 80s). Wow. I will have to mark that date on my calendar and go for a little drive.
What is the Amiga:C64(and everything else) ratio like?
Pete

There are more C64 people there: about a 2:1 ratio, but that was my first meeting after the summer break.
I will be there tomorrow for sure.
I am hoping to hear good things from Amiwest which will invigorate the community.
What town are you in? I live north of Newmarket.

TPUG and a WoC Toronto show? Man... I haven't been to a Commodore/Amiga show since the last Midwest Amiga Expo, years ago.
Thanks for the info! Might be time for a road trip. For once, this is a place I can easily drive to. :-)

Where are you from Defender?
I will post any info I get concerning the WoC for this december.
Last year they held it in the basement of a church -- not exactly the Internation Centre It was held in before.
;)
