Now that we interviewed Ben Hermans ... who do you think we should ask to do a similar interview with ?
Suggestions are more then welcome.
-
Bill Buck and Raquel Velasco
Dave Haynie
Carl Sassenrath
RJ Michals
Bill McEwen
The Frieden Brothers
Ralph Schmidt
Harald Frank
Bernd Meyers
Bernd Schmidt of UAE fame
I'm sure I could think of more! ;-)
-
Hey, Now. Only one suggestion per post!
You submitted all the good ones.
Just kidding :-P
Guess that leaves Fleecy and Rich Woods... :-?
-
Oh, Wait you forgot Alan Redhouse.

:whack:
Ralph Schmidt should be next for sure. We just got info on the future of OS4, why not balance that with the future of MOS? Just a thought.

No I didn't! ;-)

Aaron Digulla, AROS Development Team

If you can find the man, David Pleasance (ex-MD of CBM UK) would be an excellent interview to have.
-
We're allready busy contacting numerous people suggested above ... but keep em coming :-)
-
Jim Collas!! I bet he's been gone from GatesWay long enough where he can talk now.
Seemed like a nice guy, I didn't like his vision though.
-
Darreck Lisle -- former Community Relations, Gateway's Amiga Inc.
I'm sure that he might be able shed some light on what really went on during his tenure (from day 1 to the end).
-
@mdma & red:
Jim Collas and David Pleasance were the two who sprung to my mind.
I can't see it somehow....
-
Don't forget Gateway Hardware Engineer Joe Torre.
-
Irving Gould
Mehdi Ali
-
Petro Tyschtschenko
-
Bill MCewen or that Garry Hare dude..
-
BB king
Gloria Estephan(Miami Sound Machine)
Disney World
Nasa
-
BB king refused ... he said he was more fond of the old atari ST and didn't want anything to do with some spanish girl :-)
-
Bill Gates - Microsoft relations with Amiga, Inc. (are there any ?)
Steve Jobs - How many money does he earn each month ?
Linus Tovarlds - About Linux: The free OS if your time is worthless.
;)
Leo.
-
I know that he's given loads of interviews, but I'd love to ask Dave Haynie if there will be a reunion next year on the 10th anniversary of C='s death.
-
I also agree that an interview with one of the Genesi guys to balance out this one would be good.
Perhaps some mini catch-up interviews with past well known Amiga peeps would be an idea?
-
Mehdi Ali !!!!!!!
Also ask where he is so I can go and tear him a new as*hole :-x
-
@ uncharted

We're working on that ... :-)
-
I know, let's interview...
WAYNE!
-
Hehe .. he's already on my list ... but don't tell him .. it will be a surprise :-D
-
PLEASE let me interview Medhi Ali........
That one would make great pay-per-view television for all interested parties.... <>.
-
1, paul nolan who wrote photogenics .
2,dick van dyke he still uses amigas. :-)
and dont forget petro he is one of the best. :-D
-
Axl Rose - He's suppose to be an Amiga user ;-)

The Friedens and Laire, maybe Gerald Garda (sp?) too.
I saw many interesting names listed, but I think we should concentrate on people who are still working with Amiga-like systems. For example, there has been made many interviews of RJ Mical etc.
OTOH: last Olaf Barthel interview was legendary, and maybe another one could be made after OS4 release :-o
Maybe the Aminet warriors should be interviewed too. Aminet is so every-day that one might think it comes 'free'.

What about contacting old demo coders who are no longer active to see if they would come out of retirement to code demos for A1/Pegasos? Melon Dezign, Lemon, RSI, Razor 1911. DCS, LSD to name but a few off the top of my head.
Is Jack Tramiel still alive? ;-)
-
That would be neat! A where are they now artlcle...
-
Urban Müller
-
Anyone formerly of CATS
-
Aaron Digulla, AROS Development Team
Yes, an interview with someone from AROS, please.
-
Kiki Stockhammer
-
Some of the former Gateway guys:
Darrack Lisle
Jim Collas
Ted Waitt
Some of the more famous guys:
Carl Sassenrath
Dale Luck
Petro!
-
I'm with the guys who would like to see an interview with individuals from prior Amiga eras. Pleasance would be a good start.
-

We(=DCS) are already working on a Pegasos demo.
See the announcement about demoscene project at www.morphos-news.de.
In the end of this week a query will be mailed on the mailinglist asking who wants to have a loaned Pegasos. Next week decisions will be made.

Don't forget Toni Wilden of WinUAE fame!

Now that's a great idea. I'd love to see if any of these guys ended up working in the industry, or even if they still dabble.

Nice one. I'll look forward to it. All software rendering I hope? Nothing spoils a demo more than hardware acceleration. The best thing about watching demos for me years back was being astounded at what they did with limited resources. PC demos are generally rubbish as they are just pretty opengl rendered efforts. I want to appreciate the coders skill as much as his artistic flair.

I went to the Digital Party near Rotherham in 93 (Maybe 94) and one of the coders from LSD (Data?) was coding games for the soon to be released (At the time) PSX.
Isn't Team 17 made up from ex Demo coders too?
-
Olaf Barthel
The AROS Team
-
Elbox representatives? Someone from Titan? Epic interactive?
Wayne Hunt? Other community celebrities?
Even Ray Akey maybe? :-)
-

Hmm, seems like I've missed it.
Where to find? (url) :-?

I've just had an excellent idea. It must be the Stella Artois doing the thinking for me as I'm rather drunk, but....... How about interviewing Mick Tinker of Boxer fame.
I'd really love to know what he's up to these days, and what his thoughts are on the A1/Pegasos boards, and if he's thought about resurrecting his Siamese PCI (Amiga on a card), these things would be fantastic used with A1/Peg boards.
-edit-
Especially with a Catweasel PCI in the same machine! Maybe the both could be combined into one card. That would be a great piece of Kit!
@BBRV
How about funding development of the Siamese as a Genesi product. I think the marketability of these cards would be high, and lots would sell. OTOH I am rather drunk at the moment (Drowning my sorrows as Alison is in Majorca until Friday with my step daughter, and I miss them.)
-
Yes.. Mick Tinker!!!!
heh.. I don't know if I'm drunk or not, but ask Mick why he's not working for Genesi on the Pegasos III with real AGA emulation and so on...
/me puts full body armour flame resistant suit and hides behind a brick wall!

Can you have a piss without swaying side to side and laughing to yourself for no apparant reason whilst simultaneously (God thats hard to spell when drunk!) solving the worlds problems in your head?
If not, you are not drunk! ;-)
I can confirm that all of the above are true in my case.
Thankyou, and good night Vienna.
I'm off to the pub.
-
Did anyone ever get around to interviewing the team behind the development of the Shadow of the Beast game series?

Yep, Team 17 used to be known as 17 Bit software and were a PD outlet. Good old DataBecker is out there somewhere too! What about Magnetic Fields?
On a side issue, my old mate Jools Watsham, who once wrote for TheOne magazine ended up in the States designing graphics for Acclaim. Haven't heard from him in years, but he started out with a lowly A500 and Deluxe Paint.....
8-)
-
How about interviewing Jon Hare, of sensi-soccer fame?
Failing that, what about his brother Garry? ;-)
-
Fred Fish
-
Jesus Christ. I'd have a few questions for him.
