i have the roms, no CD drive tho. Does the CD drive plug into the back or internally in the a1200? RAM also should not be a problem. whats the min size HDD?

I have no idea on the min size hd. for the cd rom, there are a few ways to connect, the easiest (imo) is through a scsi controller called squirrel made by hisoft (don't know if there are any other makes), this just fits into the pcmcia (creditcard like) slot on the side of the 1200 with a cable that you can connect to an external scsi cr-rom, it's (well it was for me) just a case of plugging in, installing software and away you go. I'm not advertising here, but I have 2 squirrel controllers, I don't use the miggy for anything online, so I may be willing to part with the surf squirrel at some point soon. I'm pretty new to the miggy (well, after an absence of about 6 years) so sorry if I can't be more help or my advice isn't best, I'm just going by what I actually know, not what I have heard/seen on other boards etc)

it's a scsi device with a hispeed serial port on it (I think the basic serial port on the a1200 only supports modems speeds uptp 33.6? (I could be making a right tit of myself here :-o ), but I like the idea of one of them little grey fellows with a bushy tail hitting the waves off the californian coast line  :-D

Is this serious?  :-?

He explains what it is in his posting! It's a SCSI-card for the PCMCIA-port (with fast serial port for connecting a modem).

If you got an unexpanded A1200, you'll need a turbocard or something similar to put 6Mb of RAM on. AOS3.9 requires that.

Then you should buy a Flickerfixer/Scanddoubler. (you'll need both. usually comes in a device that has the two already included.)

Yup, expensive but well worth it. You couldn't feel more at home with a computer.. :)

You can buy most things that you are looking (and that you'll need for upgrading to OS3.9) for at www.eyetech.co.uk

(and to the moderators: if advertising to netstores is not looked well upon then please, by all means, edit this posting.  ;-) )
