Hi, AmigaONE are the future of the Amiga community and computing, but there cannot miss the notebooks... so there've developed one?
-
SO....... Pigs are flying over there huh?
-
Where are you living? AmigaONE is dead long time. There is new hardware around the corner but no laptop so far.
-
to all who did not paid attention , yes there is atleast one of the 6 designs in development(?) that will be suitable for a laptop'ish solution...now if that solution will be good compared to other laptops remain to be seen but atleast if this machine arrives i know i will grab it.
@djbase: no its not, mine is still alive and kicking and the liscense still remain like it was 2 years ago, that said,,,people do confuse AmigaOne with µa1c etc and therefor every new Os4 enabled machine from 2003 till x will be called just that...or so i think anyway (it is a name that rings nicely in yer ear...unlike Mona or samantha etc...unless u think alot about samantha fox still.

I wonder if it could be worthwhile making a motherboard replacement for an existing common laptop, so all you need to do is buy an old dead version of that laptop (I'm thinking the flood of popular but flawed late model iBook G3s, so many of which have dead logic boards and can be picked up as non-working shells easily enough) and fit a replacement Amiga motherboard inside - one designed specifically to fit the form factor. Combine that with a pre-made top shell replacement to add whatever logo you'd like instead of the Apple, some Amiga specific keycaps for a few of the keys on the keyboard and *bing* - one Amiga laptop.
Of course, I know absolutely nothing about PCB design, or how easy/difficult it would be to make a laptop form compared to a desktop - but picking up a dead iBook for a couple $hundred gives you a decent screen, case, keyboard, optical & hard drives for less than the value of new component parts.

but there cannot miss the notebooks...
Ah yes! The notebooks. The shiny new PPC notebooks that run OS4 out of the box.
You will find them just to the left of the Hyperdrive Interstellar shuttle, behind the stack of domestic fusion electricity generators and to the right of the temporal transporters.
Take care though. Technology that cutting edge shouldn't have been stored with all the commodity rubbish.
