hi speel the machines are pretty cheap now. you can get AES for around £65! or you can get an MVS or consolised MVS for a similar price and then have access to cheaper MVS games. i have just bought an AES with a unibios chip installed, so i can cheat! ;-)

tsk, tsk, cheating....
Nah, 65 pounds is still a hell of a lot (I am a student you know)...
I just need to be lucky and find one on a flea market...

I do!  BTW, this should be in entertainment.  :D

I have an AES, MVS MV-1J (can't remember which one really, it's a compact board, but not the C or B), CD, and CDZ (as well as about 4-5 NGP/NGPCs).  I have almost completed my NGCD collection (I'm only missing one, Ironclad, and it's EXPENSIVE!!!).  I have all the limited editions, alternate versions, and other rare titles.

wow thats quite a collection you got there. i was gonna get a ngcd but got an AES, i probably couldn't stand the long loading times. i am more of a gamer rather than a collector! :-) how much is your ngcd collection worth do you think.

If you have an AES you can get a Phantom converter to play MVS - I think a Supergun can also play MVS with an adaptor.

The Neo-CD has a single speed CD drive, it would drive you nuts.

:-D

A supergun is just a JAMMA rig that hooks up to a TV.  So, no adapter needed (I used an HGA to play my MVS before I got my NeoGeo Kural/Candy cab).

But, spending $50 for a game versus $400+ was the driving force here.  Of course, I was buying CDs when they were still produced, and this was before the MVS system games were readily available on places like eBay.

And, the CDZ has double the buffer so it's quite a bit faster.  :-D

Oh, I'm a gamer also.  I just decided to collect the NGCD games because they were rather obscure..  I'd guess the NGCD part would be somewhere in the $3-4000 range.  (I think it's something like 129 games there, some I have dupes of, plus the extra controllers, consoles, limited editions, etc.)
