Title: Some PC items - make me an offer
Post by: X-ray on September 23, 2006, 12:59:29 PM
Some of you may be using a low-spec PC for emulation. I have some items I want to get rid of since I have upgraded my PC. Make me an offer on these items: (see next post, some items have changed)

Okay lads and ladies...here is an update, with pics. I found more stuff that I want to get rid of. Also I have all the details now:

1) SOLD AMD XP2100 CPU (actual speed is 1.7gHz)

2) SOLD 2 x 1gb DIMM with heatsink. (edit:these are PC2100). I cannot find the receipts for these, and as I have found another pair of DIMMS (that I am not selling) I cannot vouch that this is a matching pair or that the other pair is matching. Specs for these two are the same but I don't know if they are from the same lot. I cannot remove the heatsinks to check.

3) SOLD GeForce 2 MX400 AGP card

4) Adaptec 2904 SCSI card (PCI). Internal 50-pin header, external 50-pin Micro-D connector.

5) Belkin Combination USB2 and Firewire card. Has 2 external USB ports, 2 external Firewire ports and 1 internal USB and firewire port.

6) Generic Firewire card (PCI). Has 2 external and 1 internal port.

7) Realtek Network card. 8139 chipset.

These items are all second hand. They were in my first PC which I have since replaced. I have driver disks and manuals for all those that need them, but no original boxes.
Make me an offer by PM.

How much is the CPU?

I would make an offer but it would probably be daft...

At this point no offer on the CPU is daft. I was a bit more fussy with the RAM, but not the CPU. Make your daft offer and you'll find it is acceptable ;)

Okay, people, this CPU has to go. There must be someone here who is using a CPU less than 1.7gHz, either for emulation or for internet access. So to make things sweet, I will send this CPU to anybody for the grand price of....

a bag of wine gums.

I'm not kidding. That's all I want. In return, all I ask is that you use the CPU and don't sell it on for three bags of wine gums  ;-)

That reminds me of the old playground swappage used to be 2 bob and a packet of Rolos :-)

I was interested in the PCI graphics card until it magically morphed into an AGP one.

I actually have a Matrox Millenium video card with drivers that I would sell.  If someone is interested, looking for like $5-$10 plus shipping (light so like $3).

If you would like it please feel free to PMAIL me.

At this moment, I can not recall if it is AGP or PCI, but I THINK it is AGP.

Hi folk,

I just wanted to let people know that X-Ray has been more than a pleasure to deal with in purchasing parts from him.  I offered what I consider to be a pretty low price for the graphics cards (considering he'd already said he was throwing in the functional but slightly damaged 128MB card).  In addition, he threw in the CPU, and modem card.  I won't disclose the details of the method of payment (I'm not sure that would be appreciated), but suffice it to say he has been very flexible in this regard.

Thanks X-Ray!

edit- I forgot to mention that he also downloaded the most recent hardware drivers, for a number of OS's, and burnt them on a CD, along with providing the original discs.  He's really gone the extra mile.
