Title: A500 micronik tower, switch between kickstarts
Post by: Amigaz on September 10, 2006, 09:30:26 AM
Recently aquired a minty A500+ housed in the Micronik mini tower with the ZII busboard which also has room for 4 kickstarts.
At the moment I have two kickstarts in the sockets on the busboard but I have no clue on how to switch between them..the manual is in german and I understand some of it but can't find anything related to switching betweeen them.
Has anyone here any experience in this hardware and can give me some hints?

Perhaps reboot and hold down the keys for a couple of seconds? Thats how an old switcher I had worked.

BTW, nice find, its a nice looking tower.

There should be a 3-position switch that bolts somewhere,  but I broke mine and never installed it - and I had a 2-Rom switcher already.

Hi:
have you tested any zorro cards with the busboard?
Do you use a a2000 acelerator with it?
Can you post a couple of pictures of the case and busboard?
Best Regards

Rod

There are some pics on http://www.amiga-hardware.com/
from  Micronik 500 tower and Micronik mini tower - they are the same; "officially" it was called A500 Classic Mini Tower I think. Perhaps a little better pics could be added...

Will try the tips you guys gave me  :-)

Will also provide BBOAH with better pics than the crappy ones that are there and upload some here too.
This baby rocks...can't wait to get my hands on a nice A2000 turbocard for it and stuff an X-surf and a Cybervision gfx card in it  :-D

Here a pic of it I posted on a swedish Amiga forum (http://safir.amigaos.se/bildgalleri/users/1671.JPG)

There is a 3pin header on the busboard for the kick switcher - just try different combinations on it, probably shorting 2 pins. What is the default behaviour when nothing is connected there - the lowest KS I think?

Amigaz,

What are your plans for this great piece of hardware? (an 060 would be a nice addition)

Yeah, I would love to get my hands on a Blizzard 2060 and then stuff an X-surf inside it together with my Cybervision 64 3D  :-)
