Sorry cause i kwon that it's another repetitive question...
i got a sega genesis 6 buttons pads (http://a1200.bitacoras.com/archivos/2006/09/07/un-poco-de-vicio-2)... i have tested and i can play with 2 buttons with games that suports this feature (turrican saga, etc). i have read in other topics about 'switch pin 9 and pin 6 on the joypad end where the cable ends' to enable 6 buttons (to play games like guardian cd32)...
have u tried?
thx

the amiga game ports only allow for 2 buttons for a normal joystick config. cd32 controllers use a different setup and use the port completely different iirc

Check aminet. At one time, there was a "driver" written
to allow the Genesis pad to more or less function as a
CD32 pad. It may require the lowlevel.library file, but
I don't know for sure.

thx... but i can't find lowlevel.library at http://www.aminet.net (http://www.aminet.net)
some ideas?

@KThunder It actually supports 3 buttons. But usually controllers with 3 or more buttons have surcetry in them. Have a Sega Genesis pad and transformed it into a 3 button amiga joypad with the extra startbutton transformed to an autofire button. Pritty stright forward stuff if you don't want the autofire feature. :)

according to my owners manual a digital joystick can have two buttons. a proportional joystick can have three and as an i/o port it could have many more. im guessing you changed the segapad from a digital stick to something else? how do games work with it?
-
This is probably well known and mentioned already. If I'm stating the obvious, skip over this. The Read.me that comes with ADoom details a modification to use all six buttons (I think the additional buttons are multiplexed into the available pins by the onboard chip). I made the modification years ago and remember it working well in ADoom. It seems that the mod enabled rapid fire in other games, too.
I don't play joystick games much.

Lowlevel.library is a part of Workbench. I believe it was
included with 3.0 and later to support the use of the CD32
joypad. You will not find it at aminet. I didn't have any
luck finding the old software hack on aminet, might be at
one of the mirrors.

neuroflip,
the amiga joy port only can map 2 buttons
more buttons needs extra chips+drivers and there's no hack for that
The best solution for that is using a program named Fakepad wich will map cd32 buttons to the keyboard..get it on aminet
anyways
don't waste your time adding more functional buttons to your pad
how many amiga games support 3 buttons or more ?
maybe 1 or 2
even that games can be played perfectly using only 1 button
btw, Guardian CD32 is on of the worst amiga games ever made
forget it
bye, Laser

Ok, i see... thx for all. I'll try FakePad :D

@Laser
A mouse can have 3 buttons using pin5 for middle mousebutton. Joysticks/pads usualy doesn't have this pin connected but there's nothing stopping you from connecting it aswell and then you have a 3rd fire input. As for what software support this 3rd button... well... not much but that wasn't the question now was it? If it's there, use it!
Anyone know how to make an analouge joystick work as if it was a mouse?
