Title: Adding SCSI CD-ROM
Post by: sdyates on August 27, 2006, 03:20:55 PM
I have an NEC CDR-210 device and cannot get my Amiga to recognise it using an external SCSI device.

The jumper settings range from one to six with 3 and 6 being jumped.

The install software asks which device number the cd rom is on and I have no documentation.

Can someone assist?

You need to find out the SCSI ID of the CD-ROM. Presumably the jumpers on the back specify the SCSI ID, so I don't really see why 3 and 6 are jumpered. Have a look on the drive and see if it tells you how to correctly set the SCSI ID on the CD-ROM. Then give the install software that SCSI ID and it should see the drive.

Thanks for your help. I foudn the problem: the last SCSI device in the chain requires jumper 5 to be jumped.

It works, now to install OS 3.9 on my A3000 :)

Cool! J5 probably enables termination. Remember to boot from the Emergency Disk before installing OS3.9.
