Title: Continuous crashes!
Post by: Garrett on August 26, 2006, 01:25:54 PM
Help! My system keeps crashing on several occasions and I can't seem to locate the source of the problem.
I get messages like: "Ramlib" program failed whereupon only the Gui reacts to mouseclicks, nothing will start and I'm forced to reboot. I suspect this has something to do with me installing the libraries of ABlitz, but replacing them didn't do much good. Furthermore: adding the Ntsc driver to the devs/monitors directory seemed to confuse the entire setup and halted the startup-sequence at some point. Had to revert to my trusty oldsys partition to fix the problem.
I've never experienced such behavior from any amiga before, and I feel lost now that everything hangs while working. Any ideas?

Sys: a1200, 68040-40 Mhz, 16Mb Ram, os3.9 :-(

Look around in these directories (and subdirectories) for suspect file(s).

Sys:WBstartup
Sys:S
Sys:Prefs/ENVARC
Sys:DEVS
Sys:LIBS
Sys:Prefs/Presets

Check S:startup-sequence and S:user-startup files for any recent entries.  Better yet, post your startup files here in the forum.  That would help to diagnose a lot.  Dave
