Hi all, I just dusted off my Amiga 1200 for the first time in years. It still works!! And it boots in 5 secs - take that Microsoft!! :-) I can feel a game or 10 of Settlers coming up!
The internal floppy drive isn't in great condition though. Does anyone know of a replacement drive that can be purchased?
Cheers,
Andy.

If you just get read errors try cleaning the drive first before starting to hunt for a replacement

Thanks Amigaz. Actually, it's the little button inside the drive that indicates that there's a disk inside that's defective. I have to push down on the disk whilst it's in the drive in order for the drive to know it's there, most inconvenient. So, I think i need a new drive.
Does anyone make them / repair them these days?

try amiga sb.net :)

The disk change button could just be stuck because of being dirty. Try spraying some electronic cleaning fluid on it and -carefully- moving it up and down with tweezers. If the spring that lifts the button isn't broken, it should loosen up again.

I suggest you modify the cable and connect PC floppy. Checkout posts from past, it has been extensively talked about.
