Title: To Buy or Not to Buy
Post by: AmiBoy on August 24, 2006, 08:42:05 PM
Hi Everyone,

I have spotted this nice little 060 PPC board on ebay which ive got my eye on and the guy:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250021270935&fromMakeTrack=true

Hes not really asking too much for it but I was wondering if it looked like a good purchase and if the seller is good/bad?

Thanks,
AmiBoy

I am the original owner of this bppc.
the seller is trustworthy, just selling it to fund another project. The 060 is a real 60mhz one, it is a rev2 bppc and works PERFECT with bvision/g-rex. It is made by DCE, and is actually very well made, a quality product. Also the 060 is on a socket, so you could easily put the 66mhz one you have (guessing from your sig)

A very nice card, only sold it because I moved to 4000-csppc...

Well that PPC card used to belong to Keropi, so you could ask him about the card. (check out the blue heatsinks)

I think from what I have seen, thats about the right price for one imo.

One of the offers in 'pending' btw

Thanks alot for the quick reply....

Its very tempting to get this (ill pay the £230 asking price too). I will still have an 060 (I cant go back to anything lower now ive felt the power!) which I will swop out for my 060 and clock it upto 66 MHZ, and ill also have an OK spec PPC (I would really love to have been able to get one of the 266 MHz ones) for my A1200 so I can finally play Quake1, Quake2, Decent Fresspace, Earth 2140 and Nightlong at a decent rate.....

But then again i may need £230......Oh decisions decisions

yeah, I don't want to dissapoint you, but if you want to get a bppc only to play ppc 3d games, then don't... they suck , it is just the bppc, even a 266mhz one won't make a big difference... quake / doom / duke3d are fine though!
heretic2/quake played ~12-15fps using a voodoo3 on a g-rex...

I have exactly the same DCE card as the one that's being auctioned. It's in fact an overclocked 160Mhz chip to 200Mhz. The 603e is still cool though. I've never had any problems with it.

Hey, I would even sell it to you for less than 230GBP, if you are interested. :-D

I got my BPPC (rev0) 603e/240Mhz, 060/50mhz, with SCSI2 + IDEfix Express + SCSI CDRW for 240£, it seem a good price, and more for a rev2 to run MorphOS on your A1200, but it don't have SCSI.

Hi all,

Just a quick reminder that the Blizzard ppc card is still for sale and I haven't been contacted about reserving it!  I will accept any offers around 200 pounds which is already a loss what I paid for it without Ram a couple months ago.
As Keropi suggests I'm selling sum of my stuff to fund and complete a desktop project. ASAP
If I don't get a buyer I'm more than happy keep it. I found a few piggy banks about the house I can break!  :-D

If you were selling internationally you probably would have got more offers...

Your item states:
