I just made a Mobius strip with my copy of Imagine3D and had the idea of producing an animation of the MC Escher drawing Mobius Strip 2 (with the ants). Before I put the effort into it, has anyone seen anything like that on the net?

One of the XWindows screensavers for GL does this. The ant object is used for a few other things; the strip is two 'parallel' white bars with a red mesh structure joining them. The ants crawl around it in both directions. It's cute, but could be done better.

You have been reading into Hyperspace :P
Mobius Strips are brilliant things.

Interesting! But, wouldn't it look better if the 'ants' were made out of boing balls and the strip had a red and white checkerboard pattern.

Yes, I would have to agree, that would definitely be cooler!

Next, tackle, Esher's Klein's Bottle. :-P

The Klein Bottle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klein_bottle) is a four dimensional object, though you could construct a 3D interpretation of one using Imagine. I think it would be a tough challenge. Even constructing the Moebius strip must have made him think a lot. I sure look forward to the anim if it materialises.
Escher's Ants animation: Here's one someone made earlier. (http://www.cs.technion.ac.il/~gershon/EscherForReal/)

The Linux machine in the office has a screen saver with that Mobius strip and ants walking over it.
The project is on the back burner for now, but, in the future, plan on finishing it.
