Title: Amiga 500 keyboard problem Spanish kbd I think.
Post by: JC on May 11, 2003, 11:36:29 PM
I have an A500 that I bought from a friend who was moving and needed to get rid of it. It boots fine, it even has 2.0 roms, 1meg chip ram, and 1.5 meg of fast ram with the ADRAM540 board from ICD installed in it. But it has the weird keyboard with the small return key on it and the odd extra keys. My problem is that the return key doesn't work and neither does the enter key. Does anyone know something about these type of A500's?
Is there something I need to do to get them to work or is there somthing else wrong with this machine. This 500 looks as though it's never been used.

Hi, you indeed seem to have a Spanish keyboard. The Enter key works as usual on an Amiga Spanish keyboard, even if it's a small key and you call it "weird" ;-) There's obviously something wrong. Try to open the machine and check whether cables are properly connected. You just can assume that the "odd" keys aren't there. The Spanish is an extension of the English keyboard, not a different keyboard nor a simplification.

Best Regards,
Sexton

Ok, I kind of assumed as much but just wasn't sure. Thanks.
