I am trying to install the powerup version of morphos
i have copied the cd contents across, but cant boot an none of the correct protection bits seem to have copied across
i used copy all from shell
is there something I should have to the comnand(been away from my miggy for a few years)
should I have used workbench to copy the files
is it a problem with my cdfilesystem settings
please help

What protection bits and which files?
You can use 'protect #? +RWED ALL' if you are unsure...
-
thanks will give it a try, could this mess up files that are not meant to be execuatble?
is it a problem with the way i burnt the image, just used nero
all files copied across have no protectin bits set at all
-
I think adding the CLONE arugment to your copy command will maintain the original's protection bits. And dates.
-
cheers will give that a whirl and let you know
-
just checked the cd and none of them seem to be set there either
i downloaded the iso directly from the morphos powerup site
so too questions spring to mind or myabe 3
1) anyone else had this problem with this iso
2) i burnt the iso on the pc using nero. As its an image i cant see this being an issue as I did not build the iso myslef so all relevant file info she be intact
3) is it a problem with cd rom set up/cd filesystem
thanks for all your help peeps

I recall someone else had the same problem: protection bits are not set. Problem is either in burning program or in ISO image, I have no idea since I dont have PowerUp Amiga here.
But setting protection bits should not cause harm. Especially if you limit it to the MorphOS partition only.

Hi !
There is a problem with the lastest ISO that only works on true A4000 Tower, due to rom specs and internal SCSI.
You'll need to get the previous MOS PUP ISO and copy over the BOOT directory.
-
Any ideas where I would get this from. The downloads section on the powerup morphos site only links to the lates iso
