I always wanted one of these. Now I just have to decide which Amiga will be the lucky one to get it. Could be an A1000, A500, or perhaps even my CDTV:-D My 2000's are already faily well endowed so they won't get it. The A1000 will probably win!

Congratulations! Those are really well made accelerators and you should enjoy a lot of use with it. When I sold mine to a pastor, he reported a much greater speed for his A1000, using FinalWriter and was very happy with his purchase.
-
Well done, Jeff! I am envious! :-D Now all we need are for '060's to be released again for the A3/4000's again and my life will have been fulfilled. ;-)
-
Excellent purchase. You actually got a nice piece of classic amiga hardware for less than the cost of a brand new PC.
-
The seller just refunded my money because of an "error in the listing". She said she meant to start the listing at $49.95. You can bet I won't be in on the bidding when she re-lists it.
Oh Well, stuff happens

Here is the link to the re-list

I bet it goes for at least two or three times that this time :-)

Can they do that? Haven't you made a contract with her in clicking on Buy It Now and confirming your intention to buy? I think that's pretty poor, and would get on to the EBay authorities sharpish.
-
A steal at that price!
edit: oh, I just read the rest of the thread...:-(
-
That really is poor. I bet she wouldn't be happy if the high bidder in one of her auctions turned around and said they didn't want to buy it because they bid too high. :madashell:
She should honour the BIN price. It's her responsibility to make sure everything's right before anyone bids/buys.
-
That's a definite no-no according to eBay rules. You should complain and report the seller.
-
This sort of thing is just one reason I no longer deal with eBay at all! It is a full of crooks! If you rock their boat by complaining, then they will delete YOUR account!
If you're in the States, use Graigslist!
-
I had very few problems like that over my 2500+ ebay deals...
Good luck for the 030
-
Definatly report her she has no right to do that. Once the item is listed and bides have been placed the seller must sell it at the price specified. Thats why there are so many confermation steps when listing on ebay. there is realy no excuse for her saying she made a mistake.
-
I sold an a3000 for $76 -- much below what I wanted to see it for. Things sometimes happen -- I was willing to honour the deal....
This is where things really went ebay on me.... they guy wanted to back out.... wanted a toaster system.... at $76 -- was he crazy, he could ahve turned around and made money off it....
Oh well... I may just hang on to it for parts if my other A3000 fails.
-
That really sucks. If they list an item at a certain price to be bought now, and you take it, what the hell is the problem!! :getmad:
If the seller is desperate for money because they're getting tossed out of their apartment, they should say so.

Your probably right on it going for between $100 - $150. It might even go for more than that with the idiotic way people are purchasing these days.
Lets see... Spend $150 to add an accelerator to my A500, or buy a whole accelerated A2000 system for the same price.
-
why did you let her do that, she has no ground to stand on?
-
I would bid high and just pay $50 + S/H when it is over and file complaint with paypal if she doesn't ship. LOL
-
It is amazing at what level people will sink to, to make that extra green back... *sigh* I understand people make mistakes but in this case, that is crap. The only error was she did not remove the buy it now, the price was set at $49.95, which is a pretty high starting bid. I would of honored it. That's just me.
-
Was there an opening bid price? It just looks like it was a buy it now only.
-
I am SO jealous! But congrats, man. I know the feeling when you find something like that on Ebay. And you paid a very descent price, too, another reason I'm so jealous!
I'm with you on the 1000...it'll be like using a 3000.
