Hi everyone, I've recently brought my amiga A1200T back down from the loft, and remembered how great it was. I have a small hard drive and a apollo 030 card for it. I was wondering what upgrades i can get to get the most out of it and where to get them from? I'd be very greatfull for any help.

Check out http://www.amigakit.co.uk for (I think) your closest dealer.
If you want others too, there's http://gurumeditation.se and http://www.vesalia.de
I'm almost sure there's a "Dealers"-section here somewhere which lists them all..

Hi Ian-UK, you are in the right place for help here :-)
For upgrades, it really depends on what you want to use it for. If you let us know that we can direct you in the right direction, and yes AmigaKit is the nicest place :-D
Your 030 and hard drive is perfect for most retro games, but as I said, we need to know what you want to do

I would like to get back into graphics design, play retro and current games and eventully replace my pc. I've heard things about the AmigaOne and Pegasos 2. I've only managed to find the Pegasos 2 for sale. Which is the best way to go upgrade or replace with a new amiga?

For retro games, your 030 is perfect. For graphic design, you may want something a bit faster. If you're going to be running 2D graphics software then an 030 will be ok, but an 060 would be much faster. If it's 3D graphics you'll be doing, then you will definitely want an 060 to increase rendering times.
The AmigaOne isn't available, and may never be again. If you want to replace your A1200 with a new Amiga-like computer, Pegasos or a PC with WinUAE are your only options at the moment.

And you definitely want reasonable fast gfx-card. I'd say Mediator busboard and Voodoo3 for it for example. You can also fit cheap network, audio, tv etc cards in it.
Expanded A1200 is ok for many things, but if you want to do heavier stuff like watching movies etc, then you'd better go for Pegasos2. It runs most Amiga's apps and is many times more powerful than any classic Amiga.

I've just added a second hand dvd drive, 2Gb hard drive, a Mediator PCI 1200 LT4 and a Voodoo 3 gfx card. Looking for a ppc card now. Still may wait for the Shark ppc as current cards seem over priced for what they are. Thanks for all your help. Ian

Hello, fellow South-Walian!
Been splashing out, have we?!
You may be waiting a while for the Shark (try forever).
PPC cards (not produced any more) are priced for what they are - collector's items. Depending on the graphical work you intend to do, they probably won't help much in that regard anyway. Look for a 68060 or even 68040-based cards.
