Ok I may be way of par because I am no hardware designer.
But someone please tell me if this is feasable
Take a well established via chipset motherboard (pc) usually all the same spound chips ethernet I/O etc and design a PGA type adapter to take PPC's G5 etc
Is this feasable with all the accelerators and proposed motherboards that have been built from the ground up this will require less effort.
Then reflash bios with new firmware
I know its not that simple but surely it would envolve less work!!!!
Or am I just nuts???

It might be possible... but what would you run on it? And for the financial investment required to get it working, you might as well just buy an existing PPC board.

Lawlessppc,
back to the reality
things are not as easy like yu think
bye

i certainly dont think its easy i dont quite see how you can design or copy the existing ppc motherboards or the powervixxen, coldfire, dragon etc and this be easier than trying to do what i have mentioned.
Then again without the necessary know I suppose i will never know why a full motherboard design from scratch is easier than this advanced hack

Déjà vu (http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=23615)

i'll considered that answered and utterly smashed *8O(

The obvious solution is to run a nice powerful cheap x86 and then pop a PPC emualtor on it... ther are several free ones around and "PearPC" is really good!

"Less work" for running what? OS4? Hardware is not the problem. There is plenty of hardware OS4 could run on that is even reasonably priced. "No friggin license", that's the real problem.
So even if your funny adaptor would work, it wouldn't help at all. It wouldn't change anything.
