Installed OS3.9 this am.
Hitting problems.
When I click on DH0 it opens, when I click on any icon inside the computer immediately freezes.
When I click on DH1, 2 or CD0: nothing happens, the pointer can move, then freezes and GURU's
Dopus is run at startup, and works fine - I can access any drive, run commands, read/write files, launch programs.
Shell works fine too.
Ideas? Its just icon work that is causing errors.
A4K, WarpEngine 040, C64/3D, X-Surf. All worked fine under OS3.1, have (latest?) 68040, (.lib, new.lib, old.lib) and 68060 libs. What else needs checking?

install BoingBag 1 and BoingBag 2.
Why do you need 68060-library on a WE040?
Any Guru-message? ramlib-error?
(Copy the fiels from the Emergency-directory to your boot-partition file by file via D-Opus. There are newer ones than from the installing.
Did you nstall on a fresh HD or did you update a 3.1 partition?
Use a program to increase the stack. (stackattack or likely)

060 libs as once this is sorted, a Cyberstorm PPC/060 is going in there...
I'll note the Guru error.
Was a 3.1 update.
I cant install anything - when I click on an icon it causes the machine to feeze. Unless there any way of launching installer from the CLI??? (in which case I'll do a whole re-install)
And worked perfectly under the 3.1 installation...
what is interesting is the startup-sequence still shows ver40.x, not v45 (or whatever) that I would expect from OS3.9 startup-sequence.
Could someone PM or email me a copy of their startup-sequence, it is possible that I'm missing something. The installer didnt make a good job of the install.
Now, my disk is *original*, bought from H&P 18months ago. But, it conflicts with the 3.9 FAQ in that it is "warm red", dated 2000, but has the *later* versions of certain libs/devices that apparently shipped with the SE disk. However, it is different to the differnces listed in the FAQ ref the bug-fixed SE disk...!

Solved. Nuked from orbit with a format. Turns out it was the Cybervision software causing the problem, in anything >4 colour screen depth. Installed Picasso96 and the problem went away (although P96 brings a different set of issues to the party...)

gee isn't retro computing fun? :-D
One reason I opted to invest in an current, stable, usable platform a few years ago. Spent more time tinkering than producing. Yes, I still have my Amigas. Yes, I still tinker with them, on occasion. But now they don't tick me off when they won't cooperate and take hours of work into the bit void...

But thats the joy with it now. PC's are boring, just plug and go. Work-wise, that is exactly what I want. No loss in productivity.
But in my spare time, tinkering is key. The Amiga is good for that. The joy of getting "new" hardware working...
