Still having problems using my amigakit easy adf compact flash adapter.
I have formatted the CF as windows FAT. Added a couple of .adf files.
They show up on the my Amiga 600HD if I select "Show All Files".
When I launch Easy ADF, I get a gray list with two darker gray bars. No files are listed. I have toggled between "Show All Files" and "Show ADF Files. Etc...
It looks like this:

Even though I can't see anything and I only have 2 .adf files on there, I'll click "Write Disk" and see this:

Then, I get this software error:

This may not be related, but is it normal to have a "RAM DISK" always on the Amiga desktop with it saying 100% filled??
Thanks for your help.

I think the RAM Disk changes size when you drag files to it, so it will always say 100% full because it only uses space as needed. With your EasyADF, I haven't tried writing to a floppy but my files come up on the list when I open the program. You said you formatted it as FAT and not FAT32 right? Are you sure the disk in DF0 is not write protected? Also, did you install EasyADF to your HD?

@cleland909:
Ask AmigaKit if they tested their program with Kick 2.0. They probably used a callback hook for drawing listview entries. This is not supported on Kick 2.0, it needs Kick 3.0+.
You can also use any other program to write ADFs to disk. For example tsgui (http://www.aminet.net/package.php?package=disk/misc/tsgui.lha).

As Thomas said, check your rom (kickstart v37.299 (the worst) ? v37.300 ? v37.350 (good) ? v40.63 (vey good with a 600) ?) and workbench version.
If your rom is <3.1 (v40.68), try use other software than EasyAdf... or upgrade it (about 15 EUR for a 3.1 chip here in France).

That's right. You could install a RAM patch, such as the one in MCP, and then it will show the actual amount in use.

Thanks for the help. I checked and my Amiga 600 is Kickstart Version 37.350
and Workbench Version 38.35. Also I noticed at the top of the Workbench Desktop it says: 1628472 graphics mem 0 other mem. How can I tell how much RAM it has? Sorry, I am a bit of newb to this. Actually I think I just forgot alot, I had an Amiga when I was a kid and I'm trying to play all my old Cinemaware games again.
Thanks again for any help.
Oh, Migaman.. I do have Easy ADF loaded to the harddrive, and the CF is formated FAT. Actually it says FAT16 When I look at it on my mac.

I guess you have 2MB of memory of which 0.4 MB are used up and 1.6 MB are still available.
If you want to know exactly, open a shell window and enter Avail. Then you'll get a list of how much memory there is for all memory types.
In your case you only have "chip" memory. This is the memory which is available to the custom chips for DMA (hence the name). Because a fixed number of CPU cycles is reserved for DMA, this memory is slow in regard of CPU access. That's why the "other mem" is called "fast" memory. There are no CPU cycles reserved and the CPU can access it with its full speed.
There is also a memory area called "slow" or "bogo" mem. This is where the usual memory expansion of the A500 maps to. This memory is not available to the custom chips but still leaves out the reserved CPU cycles.

Thanks to all but especially to you THOMAS. I was able to download the other
adf to disk program Tracksaver and transfer it to the CF and then to the amiga 600 Hard Drive. It works great. I've transferred a couple .adf files to disk already. Not sure why Easy ADF didn't work, but maybe it requires Workbench 3.0?? Thanks again.

Thank you for your feedback regarding EasyADF (http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=440)
After further investigations as a result of this post, the problem with AmigaOS 2.x has been resolved and we have also made some additional improvements to EasyADF.
Any EasyADF (http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=440) customers that require the new version, please contact us and we will mail it to you.
