128MB SIMMs for use in AMIGA Blizzard accelerator cards or Acorn RiscPC. £14 each.

If these are the same ones that have been up on ebay recently, then they will not necessarily be suitable for all Blizzard accelerators - many of the SIMMS that I have seen advertised were double-sided and some Blizzards require single-sided, or at least a 'thin' double-sided, and quite small profile. Not a lot of room in an A1200, certainly not as much as in an Acorn RISC PC.
I'll take a look, just not quite yet.

I would buy one if I had a Blizzard 060.
But alas my A1200T came with an Apollo 060 :(
And nobody has ever offered to sell me a Blizzard 060 at a decent price. Oh well my life sux :(
-
Well, they're not the same, nor from the same seller that I recall as having recently been active.
But I have to say, how did you manage to test them in a 1230-IV? They appear to be double-sided and not small profile. They most certainly will not fit my 1230-IV, I am sure, else I would be sorely tempted.

Meega : sorry to say but I have tested double sided Simms on my Blizzard 1230/4 and 1240 and the scsi controller and also the Blizzard PPC and to me it doesn't give any problem :)

hi guys,
The kingston simms listed are the "thin double-sided" ones as mentioned above, and fit ok(they do snap into place on my blizzard albeit barely), the HP simms are a bit fatter but still fit using the elastic band method above.
I have been using the elastic band method for years on 2 of my amigas with no issues. I know it looks a bit suspect, but there are no problems caused by it.
If you own a SCSI module for your blizzard 1230, then either of the simms listed will fit straight in.
And finally, if you are lucky enough to own a blizzard PPC, both types of simms should fit straight in with no problem!
Cheers

Dont be sorry for owning one of the fastest and best accelerator cards ever made.
Solder in a extra SIMM holder and you will have 64MB of total memory.
When do you need 128Mb?
Im curious.. :-)
-
When you need 128 ?? When you want to make use of your Ram Disk !!! Using it for testing purposes makes 128 Mb like a dream, and often makes you even hungry for more  That's why I feel so sorry about the fact that A4000 boards can only handle 128 Mb and not 256 Mb :boohoo:

LOL! eBay pr0n!
-
Uhm...
Can anyone actually verify that it exists single sided 128MB SIMMS? I have never stumbled upon one, and all of those people that have claimed them to exist have never really seen one themselves (only heard other claim they exist).
So, once and for all... do single sided 128MB SIMM's _REALLY_ exist, and if they do, can someone prove it?

I don't like the elastic band idea, although I'm sure it works. (The state of my A1200 is nothing to write home about anyway.) The Kingstons do look like they will fit ok. Hmm..
No Buy It Now?
(EDIT: spelling)

Legerdemain : I have never seen one either, only the single sided slimline 64 Mb Simm that I bought ages ago from Vesalia for 40 Euro's ...
meega : really need a buyu now option ???

@meega
I have a few more available other than those on ebay, so if you want one now for £15 including UK postage - send me a PM.

Don't be sorry, Effy. /smile
My 1230-IV is not exactly the same as your 1230-IV. Mine does not have the replaceable battery in a holder, like yours does, but instead it has a rechargeable cell. There might be other small differences.

If I knew how to solder I would.
I even have a spare 32MB SIMM ready to plug in.
