Yes thats right, by this time next year there is a good chance I will be in the UK on a photographic tour of Scotland, however, this greatly depends on my ability to secure time off from work to take said tour. Plans are to stop in several major UK cities before I arrive in Edinburgh, so ummm, yeah, all your brits had better be ready for my arrivial, I'm looking at you Mr. Karlos and you Mr. X-ray :-D
-
lucky you!!!!
strangely enough if i was lucky enough to be visiting Scotland, my thread would be worded very simialr to yours (adding Wilse and others to the list, of course).

The are a fair few A.orgers in London...
-
And there's lil' ol' me in Kent!
I'd be happy to show you around - apart from four years in London and a year in Manchester, I've lived here all my life...
You'd love Canterbury (and the truly awe-inspiring cathedral), Rochester (also with cathedral), Tenterden, some of the beautiful old coastal towns, the castles...the list goes on!

Another amiga.org curry night beckons methinks :-D
-
@cecilia
Yes there are many more I could have mentioned, and almost certainly plan on contacting once in the UK, I just wanted to keep it short and sweet :-)
@bloodline
There most certainly are :-D
@Cyberus
Sounds awesome, I'm sure I'll get plenty of nice shots :-)
@Karlos
Indeed it does, speaking of curry, I had my own little curry night last night :-D

Scouserpool has lots of...... erm...... "Culture" (http://www.liverpool08.com/) apparently.
I will say that it has plenty of what I can only describe as umpah-lumpah women.
Short, fat, and bright orange, with an unintelligable high pitched method of communication. ;-)

Well the offer's there, it's not just an idle gesture. I'd certainly like to see more of what's on my doorstep again myself (its very easy not to visit the attractions nearby when you live somewhere!); some of it I last saw when I was a kid about twenty years ago. The only thing is, I couldn't put you up, unless you mind a sofa/the floor...?
P.S. A very good way to save money when travelling (as I'm sure you already know) is to try and stay with people. Its hotels/hostels etc that always make a holiday expensive!!

something do do on your vacation:
don't forget to bring your socks (http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/oukoe_uk_masturbate), boys!:roflmao:

Bum! I missed it :-(

@ Adz
Well my mate if you get over here there will certainly be a meet up. Ja...
Of course, that assumes I am not in Oz by then. I have been making plans, you see. Might jump ship. I have recently been granted accreditation with the Aussie and Kiwi professional boards and so I am allowed to practise there. That will go ahead unless there is a need for my services in forensics.
Keep us posted old bean.

@ Cece
If you ever come to London, I just gotta meet you. We can compare...booleans ;-)
-
Hi adz,
I'd certainly like to hook up when you arrive in bonnie Scotland. Might be able to suggest some nice photo locations too.

that should be about every two feet! :lol:

@Cyberus
Thanks for the offer, but I couldn't do that to anyone, I really don't like making a burden of myself, but I'll certainly take you up on the offer of the tour, sadly it would only be a day tour as I won't have anywhere near the time over there as I'd like.
@cecilia
My socks shall remain on my feet or in my suitcase :-D
@X-ray
You being in Oz makes meeting you all the more cheaper :-D Seriously, work has been really flat out lately and with me trying to move into a new career I have even less time, so if I'm over committed with paying jobs I'll have to pass my place on the tour onto someone else and put my plans for visiting Scotland/UK back further.
@Wilse
I look forward to meeting you and local knowledge can't be beat when it comes to photography ;-)
@Brits, Scots etc.
If all goes to plan, and so far it looks like it will, I'll finally get to meet a lot of you, and as an added bonus, hear the myriad of pommie accents :-D

Bler...
I'd rather not.....

Something horrible has just occured to me, with bans on all hand luggage on flights to the UK from just about anywhere, all my camera gear is gonna have to ride in baggage, and there ain't a snow flakes chance in hell of that happening. I really hope these bans are lifted by the time I'm set to take off :-(

come hell or high water (cockney expression, picked it up from my mum) you'll get here :-)

Qantas (http://www.engadget.com/2006/08/23/qantas-to-dell-owners-reveal-thyselves/) wants Dell owners to bind up their nasty, evil batteries! :roll:

I'll be gutted (slang I picked up from my dad) if I don't get there, but I'd be even moreso if something happened to my gear, touring the UK without a camera would be like gouging out my eyes, it really means that much to me.
Edit...Hows that, 1666 posts...The century of the beast :-D

It turns out that hell or high water is an American expression, my mistake.
I'm sure you'll get to the UK. Travelling is so enjoyable! [and find it 'needed' as well. I get very restless if I haven't left the country for a while.] The only thing about the UK is, we only seem to have one month of consistently good weather in every twelve. August has been {bleep}e. (http://www.smiling-faces.com/babies/umbrella.gif)
But that doesn't stop the estimated 200,000 (http://www.untoldlondon.org.uk/news/ART36738.html) Aussies living in London :-)
