Time Warner had announced that AOL service will be free for broadband users. Unfortunately there is no Linux, BSD or Amiga client.
10 years ago AOL bought Compuserve. There are discussion groups about Amiga on Compuserve. What happen to this group?
Thank you.
From BBC:
AOL, the internet arm of Time Warner, is to give away e-mail, instant messaging, software and other services for free to high-speed internet users.
Time Warner said it would allow AOL to capitalise "on the explosive rise in broadband use and online advertising".
Shareholder pressure has been put on Time Warner to extract more value from AOL and boost its own share price.
At the same time, AOL has said it will no longer aggressively market its long-running dial-up service.
The changeover will take place by early September, after AOL said it wanted to transform into an advertising-supported internet network providing information and entertainment to users.

Easy! Switch to a small local provider who cares about it's clients and has some principles!

Then you get the fun of canceling AOL;
clickety-click (http://www.break.com/index/aolhell.html)
(Needs WMP or Flash)

local provider ? there are only national providers, and you'll have to pay at least 90 Euros less a few due to many month of presence to leave them (same apply for others providers), send back the modem, uninstall ... wait a few week that your new provider get your DSL line and accept your bank account, and pry that it works well... :rtfm:

Sorry to hear about the problems, but the sooner other places start doing this the better ;-)
AOL just doesn't give a crap as long as it's getting money :shrug:
