I have a lot of amiga programmes and games on my PC.
Some of them are LHA. Thrue Flashlab I found out how to put these on the Amiga. Thanks.
But some are zipped, after unzipping they are to big to be written on a Floppy Disk of 720Kb !.
Then I read something about transfering from PC to Amiga with a Null Modem.
Which Null modem cable do I need for a 1200?
(pins on PC and pins on Amiga 1200)
How does it work?
Which programmes must be installed on the PC and on the Amiga 1200 to use it?
Which file can and can not be transfered this way?
I am looking forwards to your suggestion and manuals!
many thanx !
Pieter
 question to the world!!! Look under this line!

There are a lot of free programs that can split (so they fit on one floppy) and join files on Amiga and PC. Go to Aminet and search for "Split".
Nullmodem is easier though. Lots of threads about this on AOrg.

Quite simple: one that fits the connectors of both your pc and your Amiga. :-)
Seriously: any nullmodemcable will work, assuming the connectors fit. There's no special 'Amiga-to-pc' nullmodemcable.
How does it work?
You can send files back and forth. There are several different programs you can use. I prefer to use the classic terminalprograms on both my Amiga and the pc I use. It works and looks just like you are connected to a BBS as in the good old days. Just faster.
Which programmes must be installed on the PC and on the Amiga 1200 to use it?
As mentioned, there are different _types_ of programs. If you're going the way of terminalprograms: I use Telemate (DOS-version) on the pc and Term on my A1200. Both can be found on the internet for downloading. Transferspeeds are somewhere in the range of 38,400 bps (3.5-4 KBps). Higher speeds will from time to time produce errors on my setup, which are automatically corrected by the transferprotocol I use (Z-modem), but because of the errors speeddrops are significant. 38,400 bps works reliably for me.
Which file can and can not be transfered this way?
All files, both on your pc and on your Amiga, can be transfered, assuming they fit on your harddrive.
