Post by: golf on May 09, 2003, 11:43:55 PM
Can someone help me to connect my amiga on icq ?

What server name and port number is required ?

Or does it not work on amiga's anymore, thanks in anticipation.

Last time I tried an amiga icq program, you had to get an account by using some other platform's icq software, then you could log on using the amiga version. It was a few years back, though. I don't know anything about it nowadays.

The Server Address is icq.mirabilis.com:4000

You can register with the Shell driven micq client on Amiga, at least it worked when I did some time ago.
Or simply go to the ICQ Home Page http://www.icq.com newlogin, register there and fill in your details.

On the Amiga there is the StrICQ client but it's buggy and unstable.

A better solution is the Jabberwocky client.
Jabber supports the own jabber protocol and AIM, ICQ, MSN, IRC through transport streams.
Public Jabberservers can be found on www.jabbercentral.com
